Holy Cow!

Literally I feel like a cow! I have decided to make a lifestyle change. I am officially the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I am just sick about it and I think I am finally at a point to do something about it.

It is time...

When you grow up and you can eat whatever you want and not have to worry about gaining weight it makes changing your eating habits very, very difficult. After a recent experience with my kiddos I have really opened my eyes to what a disservice I am doing to my self.

I am going to do this for me...

A Boy Named Six? Happy Birthday SIX BUCK!!!

Who names their kid a number? Apparently we do! His real name is Calvin Myron Buck VI, (in case you don't know your roman numerals that is a 6) hence the name Six came about for us. Until he came along I never fully understood the all consuming love you can have for such a small little human. Of course I love my hubby immensely, I just feel nothing compares to the love you have for your kids. It is a whole other level in itself.
11 years ago I was headed to the doctor for just a check up to see how things were going. I wasn't due for another three and a half weeks so I hadn't brought anything with me to be staying longer than my scheduled appointment time. Little did I know there were some other plans in the works in my belly. Finding out he was breach was the only disappointment I had. I hadn't planned for a c-section but that is where I was headed. They wouldn't let me leave so Calvin had to run home and grab a few things for me. I had nothing even packed for the hospital. Luckily my amazing friend Wendy helped to save the day and told Calvin what he should grab. They said I had to wait for 8 hours because I had eaten a tiny muffin for breakfast. Oh brother!!! 6:07 pm September 20th, 2001 my life changed forever. I received the one thing I had always wanted, a baby of my very own.

Fast forward 11 years and this is what we have today. An amazing little human with a personality all his own. He loves wrestling, football and is learning to play the piano and the cello. He is a great big brother and loves his sister even though he doesn't want other people to see it =). He is great in school and is loved by so many people in his life.

We let him have a sleepover with a "few" friends for his birthday.

Yes I may be a little crazy =)

Happy birthday little boy! You will always be my most favorite little human boy. Such a sweet boy (most of the time) I know you will grow up to be an amazing person and that you will accomplish all of your goals and dreams. Reach for the stars little boy, no dream is too big. Thank you for making my dreams of being a mommy come true.

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
My baby you'll be.
Happy birthday Six! I love you!!!!

The prettiest girl I know!

Today my sweet baby girl turned 8!!! Holy cow I can't believe it, she was just so little and now she is getting so huge. I have to say I love having a little mini me. She is a really good mix of myself and my sisters Molli and Kassi. I think she looks a lot like myself and Molli when we were little, and her weird sense of style and free spirited-ness I believe she got from Kassi. Her attitude and mannerisms she definitely got from both Molli and I! She is a little night owl and loves to sleep in. She is a grouch in the morning if you have to wake her up. (I have no idea where that comes from hahaha!!!) I do see her daddy in her a little. But Six is more like his daddy. Eight is such a fun age to be. In our church kids get baptized at eight. Kamryn is very excited to get baptized and we have talked about quite a bit. We want her to understand why we get baptized and what that means for her and to her. We had a little family get together tonight to celebrate her birthday and she picked chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate ice cream! Calvin frosted them and I let her decorate. She is so big! She is currently taking gymnastics and piano. In August she will start back with cheer leading. This year she will be cheering for Six's football team. I'm so excited for that time! I think I will learn to love football if Six continues to play. Here are a few pics from her little party.

My sweet baby girl I love you so much Kamryn Faye Buck!

Kids say the darnedest things...

There has been so much laughter the last few days around here. There is nothing better than cousin sleepovers and skipping school. =) My sister Traci is in town with her family from Alabama. She hadn't been home for nine years so we are all very excited to have her here. Along with herself she brought her hubby, Steve, and her sons Jake (21) and Sam (7). Sam is very entertaining. They all have southern accents, however Sam's is particularly strong. Another nephew Cael (6) keeps insisting that Sam talks like a cowboy and that he must be from Texas because that is where the cowboys are from. Cael and Sam are having a blast and they have been practicing for the upcoming wrestling season. The night before last they were at Auntie Molli's house and the kids were kinda hanging out upstairs and Charli (4) had fallen asleep. (It was pretty late) Cael & Sam decided to turn on the light so they could practice their wrestling moves, somehow Cael's head ACCIDENTALLY hit Charli's head. It was hilarious listening to Sam and Cael tell about how it happened. These kids kill me. Last night they had their second cousin sleepover and they all stayed at Granny's house.
Tomorrow we are heading to Idaho for Sidney's (18) graduation. She is grandkid number five out of 21 for my parents. On the way we are going to be taking the somewhat scenic route up to Crown Point then on to Multnomah Falls,  then the fish hatchery. It should be pretty fun with all the little kiddos. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us for that part of the trip. We try to get together for graduations and other special events. I'm sure in the next few years we may start getting together for weddings again. I love my family and I am so glad to be a part of such a crazy, fun, big, loving family. I will hopefully get some pictures up of our adventures over the next several days.

You gotta start somewhere...

I find myself thinking and saying to myself, man I really need to remember that. Yet I don't write it down. :( I want to be able to tell my kids all the funny, bad and cute things they did when they were little. So I guess today is as good of a day as I am going to get! As of today I have a 10 year old and a 7 year old, respectively boy and girl. Very soon to add another year on to each of those ages. Recently my kids have found the fun activity of jumping from the roof of our house to the trampoline. Scary, I know! I remember doing this myself when I was little. Oh the joy! I love that they are adventurous and brave. I love that they still cuddle with me. I really love that my 10 year old will let me hug and kiss him even at school. That last one is huge because last year he would barely hug me at school. I told him that it really is a good thing to love your mom in front of your friends. He is such a good boy and is definitely more of a leader than a follower, and wise beyond his years. My little girl knows how to wrap people around any finger she chooses. She is so sweet and still loves to write me notes and draw me pictures to show me how much she loves me, usually there is a picture of us together with matching outfits. :)
At this time Six (Calvin Myron Buck VI is his real name) is very involved in wrestling and Kamryn is in gymnastics and just finished a dance class. They are both taking piano lessons and loving it. I promise to keep up on the piano lessons because someday they will thank me for it. I wish I knew how to play better. In the fall Six will play football and Kamryn will be a cheerleader for his team. They will both continue with wrestling (Six) and gymnastics (Kamryn) as well.
Here are a few recent pictures of my kiddos. I am a photographer yet I don't take too many pics of my own kids since they aren't always very good to sit for me.
